LARGER THAN LIFE 2

I am almost complete with my LARGER THAN LIFE project. Night and day I have been in the art building working. Dante and I didn't leave until 3 a.m. this morning.  Please let this be the last project with cardboard, PLEASE! :)

BAD DOT HABITS

My group all crowded around my work and told me some bad habits that I had on my dot project. Such as, I used 3 dots a lot, I used the same size dots a lot, I used the top left corner a lot, I only had 1 big dot on some of them and none on the rest, and I had a triangle like pattern on most of them. I listened and corrected my mistakes! Thanks team!

SPHERE CITY!!!

The painted ones are mine! Sorry class I guess i didn't know all of the rules.

LARGER THAN LIFE

My larger than life project is really coming along better than I thought. Even though I'm having to stay in the wash building every night until 2 a.m. just to get my work done, I'm still alive. My project has a deep meaning to it so I hope everyone will enjoy it and thanks for picking it!!! Shout out to KATY for letting me take a picture of her tattoo!

DOTS DOTS AND MORE DOTS!

Over the last couple of days I have made so many dots that my hand only know how to do circles, nothing else! Its was still fun even though I used like 3 markers in 2 days! When will it end?

JANINE ANTONI

Ideas of an artist can come from many places. Childhood memories, family, friends, history, or even dreams, just to name a few. These are important to an artist because they can define who we are as a person and let our personality shine like the summer sun in Texas. The different materials artists choose to work with allow them to experiment with different items, and give them a chance to grow while learning what works for them and what doesn’t. The significance of the material is simple; an artist wants to amaze people with their work.  Artists like to be at ease and comfortable while working on a project, that is why some take months and even years to complete. The reason why I make my art is to show people the world through my eyes and the way I see it. I don’t just limit myself to showcasing my work to just men or kids. My work is open to any pair of eyes that are willing to see what I have to say.
Janine Antoni uses a wide variety of material when she works. She has been creative with chocolate, lard, soap, loving care, cover girl, led, rope, copper, and the list goes on. In most of her artwork, her only tool was her body. Her teeth were the hammers, and her beautiful long hair and eyelashes were her paintbrushes. Most of Janie inspiration came from the Greek time period, The Holy Bible and her family. She explained each piece with great detail. She told the audience all of the who’s, what’s, how’s, and why’s. Janine loves to create, that is why she enjoys being an artist.
